Quotes from Past Participants
Rev It Up has changed my life. I was one of the people who had this extra 15 to 20 pounds on my 5' 2" frame. For the past 5 years I had gradually gained 3 to 5 pounds yearly, without the ability to lose even a pound. I had gradually changed 2 sizes in my clothes, up to a size 10. Two summers ago when the sales started I bought a new wardrobe of size 10 to go into the following summer of 2006, deciding to give my smaller sizes that were uncomfortable to wear to charity.
Right after Christmas, in January of 2006 I felt like I had to try one more time, but what? This is the time that I was introduced to "Rev It Up Metabolism Meltdown" program. I began the program and at the end I had lost 7 pounds. I was thrilled to know my size 10s would fit better. At this time I had lost from 137 to 130 pounds. I ended thinking this is great (7 pounds off), now I will just eat the Rev It Up way, less amounts of meats and more fruits and vegetables, more low fat milks and yogurts. The nuts were wonderful snacks, just as long as I ate every 3 or 4 hours, I felt more energized and more in charge of me. I did not weigh for a month or so, hardly noticed losing any more with my black sweats and winter coats on.
As summer of 2006 approached, I once again pulled out the new jeans with the tags still in place, size 6. To my surprise, they zipped. At this time friends began to comment on my losing weight, how did you do it, and I want to do the same. So I decided to weigh and found out I had lost another 10 pounds. Now I'm 120 lbs., and it had only been 5 months. By following the "Rev It Up" program I reached my ideal weight of 115. I have maintained between 115 and 117 for 1 year this month. Exercise was always a part of my life, so I continue to eat healthy, the right amounts and exercise 3 to 4 times weekly. I feel great. I do not consider myself on a diet or doing without any foods I want at times. "Rev It Up" is the way of life for me. I am mentally feeling in control again and physically am without the health problems that the 60's usually bring--no heart problem, no sugar problem, and no cholesterol problems. |
JM, Huntsville, AL, Participant in 2006 – quote in 2007
|
It's been quite a while since I participated in the program, but I've definitely taken the valuable knowledge with me all along. I lost 15# on your program several years ago. I gained it back…but, the good news is, I got back on track, lost the weight again over a YEAR AGO and it's still off! With all the gimmick and fad diets out there, this is actually a wellness program that doesn't make me feel deprived or that I'm on a diet. This may seem like a small thing, but it's been the most important: using "ping pong ball" portions from the fat group and using the size of my hand as a guide to the right size in meat portions. That helps keep me on a healthy track.

|
In our search for a diet and exercise program, my wife and I were interested in something different. We wanted: a) something that stressed the science of diet and weight loss more than scales and calorie counting, b) to know how best to integrate exercise with correct eating habits, c) a professionally designed exercise program to fit our needs and to be provided at a quality facility and d) finally - a trained, enthusiastic professional to make the eight-week course interesting and worthwhile.
We found Rev It Up to fill these needs and more, and we recommend this as an excellent foundation for healthy living. |

| "I can't thank you enough for what you did for me a few years ago. People don't believe the weight battles I've had in the past (my whole life!). People always ask me how I remain thin in the restaurant business (I now own two Cheeburger Cheeburger restaurants in Louisiana and it is CRAZY!!), and I tell them about you! Although my weight has fluctuated a little, I remain very close to the weight I was when doing Rev It Up! (I'm actually there now) I also wander off of the program occasionally (tired, stressed, eating at the restaurant EVERY day, etc.....) but ALWAYS come back to it and jump back in! ..... |

| I have dieted my entire adult life - literally moving from one
to the next searching for the “one” that works. In March
I heard about Rev It Up and thought, “Maybe this one will work?” My
goal was no longer just weight loss. I wanted to eat “like
normal people”. I can’t express in words the difference
this program has made in my life. No longer is a food or food group
off limits. I eat – REAL food! I have gained so much confidence
in myself and my choices. People see change in me, not just in body
size, but in my smile, too. |

To this day, years later, I still try to eat every 3-4 hours and drink at least 64 ounces of water daily. More important to me, though, is the term you taught me "more often than not". It comes to play so many times for me. When I "fall off the wagon" and feel like I have failed myself by "cheating", I remember those words and that it is not the end of the world. I remember that I am still doing what is best for my health and my body "more often than not" and that helps me to regain control again. Most definitely the program has been a positive influence on my life. It taught me self control and the means to achieve the body, and health, I wanted. Even when I "mess up" with my eating, I know that it doesn't mean I've failed - I just get over it and begin again. most importantly, it taught me about my body, what it needs and how it uses what I give it. Just had my physical and the doctor was so amazed at how low my cholesterol was. All my numbers were fantastic and it is because I've learned from the program how to eat…forever! |

| First of all I wanted to let you know that I am a recent participant in your Rev It Up program. I completed the program a couple of weeks ago. As a result of the program, I feel better, have lost weight and inches and have a new outlook on food and eating. Your program is interesting to read, easy to follow and makes perfect sense!! My goal is to make the information I learned a way of life from now on. I had a medical check up today and my doctor is pleased with my results. Thanks again for a job well done. |

| As of last Wednesday it has been 1 year since [I] started class. To date I have lost around 35 pounds, and 30 inches. Can't really do the size thing- because I changed size ranges- no more W's at the end of the size I wear! Thank you for a great program, class and the continued support! Actually- I had lost almost 40, but with a trip to Orlando in December, Christmas- New years and a trip to Cancun...I have a little work to do to get back to where I was! [But] I was on the beach last week in a bathing suit and just a cover-up and was not self conscious about the way I looked ...Thanks again for teaching me how to do this. I was sorting through some stuff trying to get rid of some junk in the house and ran across my wedding dress ( worn 32 years ago). I put it on and it fit! Never thought that I would be able to do that again! |

I found 2 benefits from the exercise part of your program.
1. You lose inches
2. You get more compliments
1. I have a dress that I wore to my nephew's wedding- I haven't lost any weight since I wore it last August- and then it was pretty form fitting. I wore it yesterday to Easter services and it is now loose- so I guess that as much as I do not like the gym work- its good for me.
2. Today I saw an eye doctor that I had not seen before - so he doesn't know what I used to look like-and he asked if I played tennis- because I looked really fit. The other cool part of that visit was that I had decided to get new frames- the ones that I had are outdated- and are bigger than the current style- but in addition to that they are now much too big looking for my much thinner face. |

| You are a genius, and I love this program! While I walk
up and down the street, my four year old daughter races around on her
bike shouting, "rev it up! start your engine!". She has our neighbors
asking about it! |

| Can't tell you how much I am enjoying the program. It seems to
be giving me the freedom to eat healthy, eat when I'm hungry, eat
without remorse, eat until I'm full. It has quieted the sugar
cravings and stopped the binges in the evening. If just those two
things can be conquered for the long haul, it will be a miracle!.....No
one has put it in a comprehensive, step-by-step format for me before.
I can understand it, follow it, and there's really no desire to deviate
- something I always felt the urge to do with other plans. Thanks
so much |

| You offer intelligent and true knowledge and advice. You also do
it with balance and humor. I respect that. I love eating far too
much, but am actually better off because of your program than I would
have been without it. Pretty soon, my desire to be healthy will win
against my desire for the foods I like too much too often. The information
you have provided is now and will be important to my long-term health.
Thank you. |

Thanks for a really great class. As you know, I
am really pleased since I lost 15 pounds. I can truly say that
except for strength training, I followed your suggestions as closely
as anyone could, I think. I really feel that I know so much more
about my body now than ever and feel 100% better than I have felt
in years. I know part of that is because I know I look better than
before but much of it is that I have so much more energy. Tonight
in class, I actually crossed my left leg over my right one – I
cannot tell you how long it has been since I did that comfortably!
(A second response one month later) Great news!
My official weight loss was 17 lbs. in 3 months. My overall cholesterol
went down from 265 to 202, and my LDL went down from 169 to 119.
My triglycerides went down from 170 to 115. My overall ratio decreased
from 4.3 to 3.4 – Great, huh?! Thanks for all your help….Loved
your program. |

and practical. Simply stated, it makes sense and is easy to do. |

| Coming into the program, I was looking for ways to improve my eating
habits and this really fit the bill. The curriculum is easy to follow,
presented professionally, and based on sound research. Thanks again
for a wonderful class! |

| This program has changed my life! By losing the weight I did on
this program so far, I had the proof I needed that I could lose weight
by simply changing my eating habits. I always thought that to lose
weight, one had to eat very little, no snacks between meals, give
up the food I love and never leave the gym. Thanks to Rev It Up,
I know that’s NOT TRUE! For the first time in my life while
trying to lose weight, I am not always hungry or cravings things
I “can’t” have. This program is something I know
I can follow forever! The most important thing I believe I learned
is how to “listen” to my body! I am now much more aware
of when my body needs to eat and the reasons I may crave a particular
food. I know now how to deal with a surprise craving and what food
choices will cause me to be tired or worn down later, and make the
appropriate choices to avoid those feelings. Thank you for introducing
me to my new life! Until now, I didn’t know what it was like
to have any self-confidence or look in the mirror and be able to
think…”you look pretty good today!” |

| This program is a real eye opener. Can't believe what I did not know! We (my wife and I) can't stop talking about it. Probably the most dynamic programs I've ever experienced. This program makes sense, and really works. |

Many if not all of the principles have been incorporated in our everyday living experiences and our lives. I cannot believe I "did not know" how much I did not know about nutrition, exercise and the value of how you eat and what you eat. Barbara and I have lost approximately 15 and 24 pounds respectively from the beginning of the program and we have managed to maintain 100% of that loss (five years later!). The program had a tremendously positive influence on our lives in terms of overall health and wellness. We learned the positive benefits of exercise and more specifically eating right, i.e. fuel for the body ( I will never forget that session!). |
Wow! It is amazing that total strangers are willing
to reach out and help another total stranger get back on the pathway
to healthier living. If I totally forgot everything that you taught
us in Rev It Up (which I haven’t), just the support that
I received in the last three days from other alumni of the program
is worth every penny and then some! Not to mention your efforts
to reach out and help me even though it has been almost a year
since I attended your classes. I can’t thank you enough.
I had several replies to your email, all of them offering to be
my workout buddy and at the very least letting me know that I am
not alone in my struggle. Due to the encouragement that I received
from just that one email and the partnership of an “exercise
buddy” by my side, (I had) the courage to attend a spinning
class yesterday, and it felt great! I know I still have to continue
pushing myself to get into the habit of being healthy – but
I truly feel that I made some headway this week and that definitely
gives me the incentive to push on. Thanks you so much for your
continued support. You really made a difference for me.

TJ,
Huntsville, AL (Class of 2002) |
| Last year about this time, just after turning 36, and weighing
in at 202 pounds and at just 5’3”, I knew I had to do
something about my weight. I was so out of shape and unhealthy. I
couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without losing my breath,
my joints and back ached and my eating habits were out of control.
All my life I have struggled with a weight problem, trying every
diet/exercise program you could think of. It would work for a while,
but then I was right back to where I was, only having put on more
weight after I got discouraged with it. Then I came across the (Rev
It Up Fitness) class. I decided that this was one more thing I would “waste
my money on” but, what the heck, I would give it a try. It
was the best money I have ever spent. I can’t begin to tell
anyone how this class changed my life. It was very easy principles
being applied. Today I am 40 pounds lighter….my portion control
is much better and I am much more conscious of what I put into my
mouth. I knew the basic concepts of losing weight and keeping it
off required cutting back on your caloric intake and exercising as
well. But just the word exercise made my head ache. But now, I went
from a waist size of 38 to 32 and pant size from nearly 20 to a 14.
If it was not for this program, I would probably still be at that
202 or even heavier. My blood pressure has dropped, my cholesterol
level is better and I am much more energetic. I still have about
20 lbs. to go to make my goal weight, but I’m on my way to
a healthier new lifestyle with new life-long habits. If this class
worked for me, it can work for anybody. |

| Our class is officially over and I will really miss it, but I cannot
thank you enough. It is the best money I have ever spent. I tell
everyone I know about them. (The best benefit I received was freedom
from cravings. I lost 10 lbs. during the program (Oct/Nov 2001) and
have maintained 34 pounds of weight loss to date – Jan 2003) |
