What is Rev It Up? . . . Glad You Asked!
What is the mission of Rev It Up Fitness?

Rev It Up Fitness’ mission is to empower you to change from the inside out: find hope in your body’s ability to change, feel confident in yourself and your body again, and live well – strong and balanced - through nutrition and fitness education.

What is the goal of Rev It Up Fitness?

The main goal of Rev It Up Fitness is to offer a realistic weight management program designed to help you gain a partnership with your body. This partnership is developed through education and self-monitoring of food, fluid and fitness – which work together to promote a more efficient metabolism rate and balanced healthy lifestyle.

What are the benefits of participating in Rev It Up?

The benefits for all those participating include improved energy, decreased food cravings, increased awareness of your hunger and fullness cycles, more efficient metabolism, with weight changes resulting from increased muscle and decreased fat. Most importantly, you will gain ownership of your body AND the changes it is capable of making.

How do I use the Rev It Up manual?

The Rev It Up manual is divided into nine weeks. It is designed to be progressive and realistic, with each week building on the previous week’s lesson. The first half of the program incorporates the 4 “F”’s: Foundation, Food, Fluid and Fitness. During past weight loss attempts, maybe you have been able to balance food and fluids, but your fitness was not consistent. Or maybe you had the fitness part in order, but the foods you ate were way off the mark. For a more efficient metabolism, all three areas must work side by side. However, the foundation that supports your changes in food, fluid and fitness habits must be strong and stable. So each week gives you an opportunity to work on all FOUR “F’s” by presenting a foundation, food, fluid AND fitness challenge on which to concentrate your efforts. The second half of the program emphasizes only one different “F” each week, concentrating on more advanced behavior changes as you continue “revving it up”. Regardless of the number of challenges, you always have the freedom to decide how far you take each one.

How do I measure my progress?

You will not be required to weigh in each week as a part of Rev It Up Fitness. The program provides you a personalized metabolism journal in which you can keep records and self-assess your progress. Again, you always have the freedom to decide how much self-assessment you will incorporate weekly. Circumference measurements from 8 different body sites are encouraged in the beginning and at the conclusion of the program. These can be done at home or in private with your instructor – your choice. “Success” is measured in changes you see in energy, cravings, hunger and fullness, self confidence, and “food” guilt, as well as tangible changes in lean muscle mass determined by circumference changes.

What topics are covered during the nine week sessions?

Rev It Up combines “the tried, the true, and the new”, balancing solid nutrition and fitness information with a deeper look into the reasons why and how your body responds to your choices. It is presented in a clear, concise, and enjoyable style, with clever analogies and simple examples that help you practice the principles learned each week. A Rev It Up participant will learn realistic, usable guidelines for incorporating changes in the following areas:

1.
